Yes. They are not blood relatives.

But you are not describing a sister/brother in law. You are talking about step-sister/step-brother marrying.

Sharadha G
Yeah probably .... because they are not really brother and sister but since their parents got married... I think it wouldnt be a good idea to marry... I dont think it would look good on you

DV8
No relation, so yes.

They would not be inlaws; they would be stepbrother and stepsister. No, they can't get married.

Since there is no direct blood relation, the answer would be yes. Odd, but yes.

They would be step brother and sister and yes they can marry. They are only related by marriage and not by blood.

Betty M
It would depend on what state they live in. In some states, because they are not blood related, they can legally get married. In other states it would be against the law.

Turtle
They would not be related by blood, so legally they could marry. But it would be weird for everyone as they would have been raised as siblings.

Yes, they are not connected by any blood relation.

Debi
Yes, of course.

Well maybe not in Texas, but they could anywhere in the real US, I think. As long as their is no blood relationship within 3 degrees of separation, I don't think there is anything illegal about it.

Not in Texas

In most places, that would be illegal. Marriages between people who are directly related by either consanguinity (blood relations) or affinity (by marriage between other people), are generally not legal. So, if someone had been your parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, brother/sister at any time (and this includes half and step relations as well), you cannot marry that person.

sOHAIL
they could but they should not have any children because there would be possible birth defects, which would lead to further complicattions.
