If you Do read the Bible take a Peek at How many Wives everyone had in the beginning .
The Church is always talking about David’s adultery with Bathseba, but never talks about God solution in 2 Samuel 12:8 where God told David that instead of stealing another man wife away from him and killing him, that he should have prayed to God and ask for as many women as he wanted and God would have given him as many women as he wanted, as long has he did not steal and betray another man by stealing his wife. This show clearly that God is not hung up with how many women you have as long as you are not stealing other men wives from them. |

I think there was a time when polygamy served a purpose, but these days it does not serve a purpose. |

Polygamy was only used in ancient times because it was most effective for making the most people as possible. |

I just took a poll among my five wives, and we all agree that it's not wrong. |

Polygamy is mentioned in the Old Testament. Back then, that was the norm. If a man could provide for multiple wives and children, then he could marry. Among Arab Muslims, that is still the case. In the United States it is illegal in every state. Some groups (such as the fundamentalist LDS members led by Warren Jeffs) believe that multiple wives is the way to everlasting glory and power in the hereafter. I could go into a rant about the fact that pedophilia is encouraged in that sect, but that's for another question. :-) |

It is wrong. It's based on disrespect to women, and creates and unnatural home. |

In my personal opinion, I think it is wrong. I am not sure how God perceives it or if it is considered wrong in His eyes. I just know that it is something I could never do, but I know enough about religion to know that I am not here to judge other people. Whats wrong for me may be right for someone else. |

If everyone involved is ok with it then I say let them be and leave it alone.

No, who is Holy-er then God, NO ONE ON THIS EARTH. So who are humans to judge or really send time worrying about other people business or the way they have to make a living. For some it keeps them from doing the wrong thing, and for others just didn't Look |

Sure, God gives some guy in the Bible 700 wives and 700 concubines, but I can't have just one (1) girlfriend on the side. Its unfair! |

the bride groom is the Church of God. Some members will be too busy with their own lives when Christ arrives; thus the lack of oil in the lamps.
Its just a parable. Don't take it literally. |

I say as long as all the "sister wives" or brother husbands" are over the age of 18 then yes... To each his own. In this day and age when it takes to incomes to live it makes sense for someone to be home taking care of these kids that are running wild and turning into weirdos and violent offenders because no one was there to raise them because mom and dad both work...It makes sense when you think about it that way... |

In one word.... NO. You are referring to the parable of the 10 Virgins. 5 were foolish and 5 were not. This is referring to the second coming of Christ. He's the bridegroom coming after a Bride. It has nothing to do with polygamy. |

it depends on the culture and how the people were raised. in some places its completly normal, in others, its not. as a girl, i don't like it, but that doesn't mean its wrong nesscaerially. for men, they like it because they get more action. the bible was also written by men... just pointing that out.
point is, its up to the person and the culture they live in. if you live in a small rural village in africa, then its okay. if you live in the US or england, nope |

I'm christian too, and I think its wrong.
I would ask at your church or a church...not yahoo =) |

You need to re-read the parable. It wasnt about the bridegroom having relations with the 10 virgins. It was about the consequences of 5 being foolish and lazy, and the other 5 being ready for his arrival. This then goes to compare how it will be during Christ's return, and how one needs to be wise and ready, since he will come like a thief in the night.
In my opinion, polygamy is wrong. I don't like sharing. |

The bible was not written in english, and there is not only one version. So you can't simply follow the letter of the law on it. Read as much as you can, get the idea that flows between ALL the words, and follow your heart. |
