1-2lbs overweight will the Army not ship me out? I ship later today.?

I leave for MEPS at about 1pm, should get there between 2-3PM. Will they not let me join because I'm a little over weight?

How could I ask that? WAAAH!

My friend is a recruiter here in So Cal and they will take you in despite being overweight by 1-2 lbs. The Army is more concerned about you not having any felonies. They will give you as many waivers as you need as long as you are not a felon. They even take resident aliens as recruits.

They can be strict with the standards. I know a guy who was sent home twice for being 1 pound overweight. Don't eat anything at all, and maybe you will make it. Then stuff yourself after weighing so you don't pass out off the bus. Good luck!

yes I have seen it happen that being one pound overweight they will not ship you out. those standards are there for a reason.

You should be ok, i was over 20 lbs overweight when i went. All you have to worry about is passing tape, thats where they check your body fat percentage. 2 or 3 pounds over you should be just fine.

i joined at 271lbs 4 years ago my weight for my size is supposed to be 195-205 so unless they got really picky about it yah they will send u and yah ull lose it fast they will get u in shape i graduated basic at 202lbs final weigh in. o and good luck and once you been there a few you get in a groove and it all works out and dont try to fight the system drill Sargent job is to confuse u and make u miserable to toughen you. just stay positive and motivated!!!! and you will do great.
