Alright this is my last question for today :)
What is the difference between the 101st Airborne and the Cavalry Scout ? And which one is harder to get in ?

Cav scout 19D is a mos ( a job )
the 101st is a Army Air Assault Division.
Cavb scouts are assigned to armor divisions, they ride around in bradley's ahead of the main armor force trying to find the enemey.
The 101st is a light infantry division.
There are no cav scouts in the 101st. |

I don't know much about the Calvary Scout. Sounds like an M.O.S. to me (military job) - The 101st Airborne is a unit. It's at Fort Campbell Kentucky. Most poweful unit in the free world. You can be sent there from AIT whether you want to go or not. It's not something you have "to get into" - If they need you there, they'll send you there. Of course you can request to go there at the recruiters office ( or the MEPS station). Now once you're at the 101st, you will probably have to go to Air Assault School. You can easily not make it through that course, but most people do. It's very physically demanding - but you can do it. You can probably be a Calvary Scout and be stationed at Fort Campbell - 101st Airborne. |

In the 101st they might have a CAV unit attached to it. To be in the Airborne Unit you will have to go to Airborne school. As a cav scout you don't have to be Airborne qualified. That's just some of the basic info. In the airborne unit you could do anything because all people assigned to them have to be airborne qualified. A cav scout is mostly Infantry and related MOS'S. |
