Fallen Soldier returns Home
The body of Trooper Karine Blais, 21, who died Monday in a roadside bomb explosion northwest of Kandahar City in Afghanistan returned to Canada on Thursday.
Her remains were brought to CFB Trenton, at Trenton, Ont., at 2 p.m.
Her body was to be driven along the stretch of Hwy. 401 known as the Highway of Heroes en route to the coroner's office in Toronto.
She was a member of 12e Regiment Blinde du Canada based at CFB Valcartier, Que., serving with the 2nd Battalion, Royal 22e Regiment Battle Group.

The agreed upon mission has been extended once . Canadians have done the heavy lifting and combat operations where other NATO nations have not
They will be coming home in a year or so
Obama has said he would increase the US presence and take over the combat role

Canada has done very good work in Afghanistan.
But you wrongly imply that the US has not been doing much there. The number of US Soldiers in Afghanistan has always been more than all other nations combined. |

I would be more then willing to help pay tribute! Just not with money....because I have none. I do however support all of our soldiers. People argue for or against, I just want our boys and girls over there to know that they have my full support! I can't even imagine what it is like for them to see all the fighting about the war here at home. I mean, soldier funerals are being protested!
I support our soldiers. Both of my parents were in the Air Force, so you can count on at least three people here!
