Cav Scouts are some of the most skilled "non-elite" soldiers in the Army. The work is hard, dangerous, and damn-right scary...but if you ain't Cav, you ain't ****! |

I've found myself attached to Cav Scouts more often than I would like to admit.
No crazier bunch of yahoo cowboys around. Cav Scouts have just as much if not more pride (and history) as Army Infantry. Think about it, the job is more or less going out past your front lines to get shot at so you can find the enemy! That being said, it's not like your going out there like a baby in the wild. Cav Scouts are trained experts in small unit warfare and weapons tactics, and if you're attached to a heavy scout unit (like 4/7 CAV at Camp Hovey, Korea) you'll have organic armor for back up.
The cav scout motto is "If you ain't cav, you aint sh*t" and that'll more or less sum it all up. |

We are cowboys, but we are disciplined cowboys! I did it for 23 years and loved every day of it. Cavalry Scouts possess a combination of skills of several MOS's. We use more weapon types than infantry soldiers, we are highly trained in communications,explosives, navigation, indirect fire, armored and light recon vehicles, and dismounted recon ops. You name it, we will get it done. |
