5 U.S. soldiers were killed Monday, Nov 5, 2007. Is this still ok with you?

Five U.S. soldiers were killed Monday in two separate roadside bomb attacks. You may have been for the war earlier, but are you still?

Saddam is dead , most Iraqi people are still living without water and electricity, Blackwater security still pointing their big guns on Iraqis , Iraqis still fighting the invaders , american soldiers are still being killed by insurgents , the whole Iraq adventure is a big mess.

7 folks were murdered in Detroit Yesterday a city run by liberals for over 50 years

I don't think anyone is "for" the war, but what should we do, abandon Iraq in it's current state of upheaval and allow Iran to move in and take it over?
Then what?
We made the mess, we've got to clean it up.
God bless our troops both here & abroad.

PaddyRanger
its never OK for soldiers to be killed, but would you rather it was on US Soil and civilians killed instead ??:?

are you liberals ready for more civilian deaths on US Soil, if you are just vote in Hillary.

Soldiers are doing an oustanding job on the War on Terror, part of the job description is however you might get killed, when you sign up, you have to be prepared for that and have it at the back of your mind. I was fully aware it was part of the job.

You need to rethink this. I am always sad to hear more soldiers have died. I support what they are doing because they are fighting where I cannot. How many lives were saved by those 5? Have you considered that? NO, I think not.

Yes, taking casualties is part of war, the sooner people realize that the better, the men and women who join the military know the risks when they join up that someday they might have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

I carry a Saint Padre Pio, Relic with the words:

"Duty above everything else, even something Holy."

May God Bless and protect them while on service.

As a proud wife to a wonderful USAF service man I have to say I stand behind my man and the job he does. I also support all other military members. They took their oath and signed up for the military knowing what could be. I'm for the soldiers coming home, but all in good time when their job is finished. They can not just be pulled out at the drop of a hat its not that simple and its not that easy!

More U.S. soldiers died in 1 day in Vietnam, than the war in Iraq to date.

kveryeffective
No death is OK with me when it comes to war.

When progress is being made that should be the focus. The number of deaths are down, people are returning to their homes, and local leaders are standing up to the terrorists.

You have to look at the big picture. I do grieve at each death. I would even be more upset if we pull out and we come to the victims of another 9/11 or worse.

I am a Vietnam vet, it is the cost of war to lose men and we man in battle it hurts every time. We went to war to help these people and to keep the terrors from our homes here. The US are not the police of the world, but they made it our business when they attacked here. the loses are very painful to all of us but with out it you could be bowing down to them.
if you can read this thank a teacher
if it is in English thank a soldier.

....yawn..... breaking news soldiers died in Iraq! i still support the war

It's hard to accept, but casualties are a fact of war. The men and women that have given their lives for this war earn my highest respect, as well as the men and women still fighting there.

Yes, I am for the war still.

While sad, the losses we have incurred during this war are far lower than most other wars we have been involved in.

It's not OK with me.

We should defeat the people doing this, rather than withdraw and give them what they want.

..."no" US Soldiers death is acceptable to me, however, today Nov. 6th 2007 about 4.5 billion Americans will live today because of the ultimate sacrifice that those Soldiers made for YOU to live... Because you can write "things" like this and speak your mind... be sure to thank a "Vet" today, won't you...

bombtech13
That's a pretty ones sided question, and frankly, I believe that it shows your level of intelligence.

If you wanna debate U.S. policy in Iraq, you need to post this under "Politics." The military did not make the decision to go to war - our elected civilian leadship did.

there were 42,636 deaths that were the result of car accidents, so lets all stop driving! OF couse we wont stop driving, we like the freedom and independance that driving brings, how much more so do people like and appreciate freedom from tyranny and opression... just be grateful and thank God that this country has the people and the tools willing and able to maintain and preserve our freedom!

Rick46
Yes. A true patriot is one who lays down his or her life for one's country so people like you have the right to criticize them. Your comment tells me you think they died in vain. This war would have gone a lot smoother if Americans had stood together, but there are too many criticizers who have made the effort harder. No war opponent has any right to complain about the loss of life there. They are the cause of a lot of it.

I'm really getting sick of anti-war folks that don't get it. War is not about life & death, it's a battle of wills to see which side is willing to pay the higher cost to win. The lose has their culture & freedom taken from them and can never get it back. We're at war for the soul of the world right now. You should be willing to sacrafice four thousand, or five thousand, or ten thousand, or a hundred thousand, or ten million men to achieve that end. Unless & until the enemy understands that committment on our part, they will continue to grow stronger, advancing ever toward their goal of taking over the world & dominating it through genocide & radical militant dictatorship enforcing a twisted extremist brand of islam.

Right now we are fighting for long term dominance & stability of the greater mid-east, keeping that foe kncked back so they can't attack in America, and trying to liberate those around the world already under the oppression of these evil folks. If you want us to pull back & surrender, to compromise with & placate absolute evil... well that would be a very bad idea that will lead to a much bigger more costly war later.

Don't dishonor dead soldiers by saying they died in vein. You got no idea what you're talking about.

Crimson
I never think it is ok for the loyal servants of the strongest most technological country to perish. But know this, while their deaths as sad as they may be. just remember the men and women who join the armed forces of any country were not "ripped" from their mommy's house kicking and screaming. While you may not agree with the people higher up and the reasons we are over there, believe that those men fought for themselves, but more for each other, and their unit.

Paddy Range, you are so generic with all your "theira headin' this way ifn' we don't fight 'em overthere" cliques. You know good and damn well that Iraq represented no threat to the US over here in our backyard, and the majority of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudis. I am so sick of you barely-literate neanderthals using fear tactics to justify the mess in the Mideast.

eko
Never was for the war . All these veterans we are making and no healthcare for then whenn they return. It is not adequate. Not even close. Bush should go himself and then his twins, maybe that would show him ,what war is all about?
