A Question For all the Democrats: What action do you wish the US took after 9/11?

IMO, the Democrats would have concentrated on a useless publicity event of killing Bin Laden.

I cannot see any Democrat having the courage of telling the US military to to the impossible and liberate Afghanistan.

All they would have done is launched $50 million in cruise missiles and blown up about $5,000 worth of empty tents.

I am not opposed to the war in Afghanistan, its the occupation of Iraq I am having a problem with.

Gone after the real terrorists in Afghanistan. Put more troops there, and no troops in Iraq. That's all I wanted. Iraq was not related to 9/11.

Franklin D. Roosevelt 32nd President of the USA - Democrat - held office in 1941 when the USA entered WW2

Harry S. Trueman - 33rd President of the USA - Democrat - held office in 1950 when the USA led the United Nations into Korea.

Lyndon B. Johnson - 36th President of the USA - Democrat - Took the USA from observer/advisor status in Viet Nam to a full fledged combat role. America's longest war to date.

Regardless of whether one believes that the USA should have been involved in any of the above conflicts, it certainly disproves your statement that democrats are opposed to war. Every major war of the 20th century involving the USA commenced with a Democrat in office.

Unfortunately for the Republicans, Mr. Bush and ultimately the USA, the current war was started in the wrong country, for invalid reasons (in other words lies). Mr's Bush and Cheney simply invaded the wrong country. If they had committed the resources to Afghanistan that they committed to Iraq, I'm confident that we'd all be posting/answer questions about how long bin Laden will stay in jail and the troops would be home with their families.

Our initial response was great. We went into afghanistan to hunt down the perpetrators of the attack. That should have been our primary focus this who time. Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 attack.

I'm a Conservative Democrat. Only liberal democrats appose any war. I believe we should have war but only if its necessary. Plus we are not at war we control Iraq and there are no official Iraq soldiers fighting us, its just rebels and terrorist that we are fighting. Now I believe we should screw Iraq and focus more on finding that Bin Laden retard. See not all democrats are Liberal. I dont support the Iraq conflict but I do support trying to find Bin Laden and Killing all those damn terrorist. I support your conservative views and some what agree with republicans.You have to remember that both parties just have different political policies and both parties have Liberal and Conservative views

Well it depends on witch war and how poorly its been ran both country's are third world it should have taken a few months to be done with it.Republicans did not learn a thing from Vietnam when you go to war go to win don't go to have Bush never ending conflict . so when we do win this war how will i know its over can the republicans answer that

Its been 7 years and we don't have Osama Bin Laden. WTH? The man should have been publicly executed a long, long time ago. And he's still running around plotting against us and our allies.

I am not opposed to war, but I think Bush should have shown more patience and planned better. He should have waited and attacked Bin Laden when he had a more definite chance of getting him. He should have been honest with the American people as to why we were going into Iraq. And he should have put more boots on the ground when he did invade Iraq.

If he had actually fought in Vietnam he may have learned something from that war. Police actions don't work - he should have gone in and held the country until it was under control.
