i have to write a letter to a soldier for school... and i dont kno wat to write about... my teacher said that we should try to take their mind off the war and write about anything.... but i still dont know... any suggestions?

I would suggest you write about yourself and what you do when you are not in school. Write about your family, how you beat the snot out of your little brother (make it humorous), anything does mean anything.
I would indicate that you are proud of their service (if you are). They would rather not hear any negative comments though (you don't have to support the war, but you should support the troops). |

Tell them about yourself. All the soldiers I've met love to hear stories from the people back home. It's good to see what sort of lives people have, and it's nice to know about the people you are serving. |

Let him/her know how thankful you are for their service. Explain how you support the troops, are proud to be an American and will keep them in your prayers. |

Yeah dompij you hit a nerve with that comment! I am an army wife and my husband is deployed. I hope you're not american really! You should take it seriously because our men go to war for you too. What if it was your dad, brother or husband what would you hope someone would say to them to lift their spirits and build morale? |

Oh, I'm so sorry that you have to do this. But I wouldn't take it too seriously. Maybe just write about your cat(s) and how healthy (or unhealthy) they are. |
