So, I know that you get 30 days of vacation per year.
Can you split the days up throughout the year? For example, can you take 5 days off every 2 months?
If so, can you take the vacation almost whenever you would like?
Please help!

Theoretically yes, you can split it up anyway you want.
However, you command has to approve it. If they decide the mission is more important, you leave could get delayed until the field training or whatever it is is over.
Also, you cannot just take leave during a deployment. If it is a 12 month deployment, you will get two weeks all at once. |

Leave can be taken as needed and requested by you as long as it does not interfere or conflict with the mission of your Department/Command, ect. and manning levels are at the required level for you to be "off". |

it all depends on the mission. It depends on alot of stuff.
If your unit doesnt have much going on, they should allow that. |

Yes you can break it up into smaller chunks.
No you cannot just take leave whenever you want.
You have to request leave in advance, sometimes well in advance.
Things that can prevent you from taking leave.
Upcoming deployments or Training
To many others have already requested leave at that time
And unlike the civilian world, weekends count as part of your leave.
And you cannot take 5 days of leave and then really take 9 days.
IE: you cannot leave on friday before and come back on sunday after.
You have to be there to sign out the day you leave and sign in the day you get back. |
