Can anyone help me to better understand AFSC code 2R131?

Looks like it's Maintenance Management Production. You can find out pretty much all you need to know here:

the 3 instead of the X shows that the troop you're looking at is a 3 level, or basically a beginner in the field

It's a maintence job of some sort. you would be assigned to readiness squandrons. A fancy way of saying supply. an afsc is armed forces ( air force specialty code). good luck.
