My love graduates basic training on the 22 on May. The following Monday is Memorial day. I was wondering if there is any sort of policy or anything that might lead to him getting the weekend off before he ships from SC to FL because of the holiday. I am not sure if this even matters as far as basic training goes. I am unable to make it to his graduation, but can make it that weekend, and I don't know if there is any sort of lei way that goes into holiday weekends.

Bob, that's not 100% true. He will not get the day off that's for sure, but he will most likely get a little more free time and a little (I stress the word LITTLE) bit more flexible day. |

He'll graduate on Thursday and ship out on Friday. He'll probably get Memorial Day off, but he won't be able to leave post. Since he won't be training, either, he'll be bored out of his mind. The good news is that he'll be able to call you all he wants, and he'll have minimal formations. |

Unless it has changed A LOT since I got out, and assuming you're talking Army, there is ZERO chance he will get leave between basic and AIT. It will be a good chance for him to wander around and explore the base some. Assuming he even gets a pass to leave the battalion area.............. |
