2. We can NOT be "over" trained.
3. We do NOT have everything.
4. We are NOT fighting a war, we're fighting an insurgency. Which, by any military text book, take 8-10 yrs to win. The good will of the population MUST be on our side, both American and Iraqi.
5. The good will of the American population is AGAINST us. Just look at the popularity of the "anit-war" candidates in the last election.
6. The Media is not helping popular opinion, because of its sensationalism. They show where we screw up, not were we succeed, therefor Americans think we are NOT succeeding.
7. The majority of the youth is blinded by the romance of the 60's anit-war movement. They and the liberal ilk is trying to bring it back, regardless of how justified or not the war is.
8. It doesn't matter what rifle the terrorists are wielding. Their primary weapon is that of terror. They strike at the hearts of people in Iraq, by threatening and murdering them. That's why they are called Terrorists.
BTW - George: we didn't lose the Vietnam war to some poorly trained poorly equipped guerrillas. We lost the war to some highly trained politicians and highly radical hippies. |

Americans are not losing. Sorry, go away troll. What the US did in Iraq and Afghanistan is far better than any other country could do. The US has had patience far beyond anyone else. If the russians or chinese had gone in they would have been executing people for looking at them wrong. We are trying to get things going on a positive foot. Afghanistan was asking for it when they didn't give all of those guys up. Iraq was asking for it when they wouldn't comply with UN mandates for inspectors. Saddam hid those weapons, and they are probably in Syria now or elsewhere. |

No one can defeat the U.S. Military in battle.
The bad guys are beating us by making the war unpopular and are supported by the Democrats and the liberal groups like ACORN, Code Pinko and ANSWER.
They don't have to win in the field, just in propaganda. The USA has no shortage of quislings and useful idiots (as the last election has taught us) ans they are easily mesmerized.
We almost have the war won in Iraq, when the new Teleprompter Reader In Chiefs handlers decided that cut and run is a good strategy. |

the problem with operations other than war is that you must play by the rules and be accountable for each death or wounding. the enemy regardless of who they are will always have it easier because they don't have any rules, and therefore no weapon or target is to terrible to consider.
also despite its inaccuracy and other faults the AK47 is an excellent weapon for combatants with out training. |

Consider the attempt to move a solid wooden object. You can use a tremendous amount of electromagnetic energy and get it to go nowhere with great waste. Or you can apply simple leverage and move it with but a little energy and very little waste.
Obviously, the military is a poor choice to combat terrorism because it accomplishes little with much waste.
Sometimes, surgical strikes are warranted. But few, if any, full military occupations have ever managed to suppress a terrorist organization without great waste. |

Over trained Americans who have everything...your ignorance is surpassed only by your eloquence. The M16 is essentially a long edition of the current U.S. M4 Carbine, or one could say the M4 is a short version of the M16. Both utilize the 5.56x54 NATO cartridge and have both semi auto and three round burst capability. The Soviet designed AK47 and it's myriad clones from eastern Europe and China uses the larger 7.62x39 round and has only semi and (in most military rifles) full auto capability. It (AK) lacks the M16's range and accuracy, making up for these critcal shortcomings by being very durable, able to fire under most adverse conditions with minimal maintenance. Life is never that simple. Time after time, we are proven that you can't win guerrilla warfare no matter how good the training is, just look at the Amero-Vietnam war and the Afghan-Russian war. Both super powers lost to the poorly trained local militia. They lost as the lesser nations knew the area well, they had support from the locals, they could blend in with the local population and they utilised strike-and-hide tactics to prevent losses and maximize inflicted casualties. The war in Iraq and Afghanistan are already lost but people refuse to learn from history so deserve it. |

The truth is that we aren't losing at all in fact the only reason the news still shows bad things happening over there is because the banks are making countless dollars off the governments debt to them from spending so much on the war
Hear about the 2 British soldiers that dressed up as Al Queda and shot and killed innocent iraqi people then they got arrested by the iraqi military then the british government told iraq to release the murderers they refused so Britain sent tanks and busted them out themselves
America's whole plan is to hold the oil we are training the iraqi army then as soon as we leave Iraq already has planned to invade iran and take its oil so America doesn't get it's hands dirty we plan to do the same thing with Afghanistan and Pakistan |
