Yes, they pay for any official travel (like for PCS), but you are on your own for travelling while on leave. Check with the base travel office (I think it is called SATO), they can help with finding flights and discounts. Or try Expedia/Travelocity, etc. |

Yes, you have to pay for any travel while on leave.
BUT, dependingon where your family lives, your tech school is located and where your duty station is, they might cover some of the cost.
The AF will pay your travel from Tech School to your first duty station or an equilivant amount.
So if your Tech School is in Cali, your home is in St Louis and your first assignment is in Michigan.
Your home is on the way. So to get a airline ticket that stops in st louis and then goes to michigan two weeks later whould only cost a little more or not at all.
If you have a car, then they pay for the travel from school to base and give travel time ( 300 miles per day ) |
