Age to contact Marine recruiter?

I'm turning 17 this september, and I'll be a junior. Is that old enough to contact a recruiter. I really am looking foreword to join the Marines so the earlier I can get involved the better.

You can not enlist until your junior year ends. You must be a senior in order to enlist into the USMC. Just being 17 does not get you in even if your parents sign for you.
Unless your recruiter is bored and has nothing to do, I do not see why you need to contact him.
Some recruiters don't have time for people who are not qualified to enlist, while other recruiters will go out of their way to let future prospects hang out with them. |

This is a perfect time to sit down with a recruiter. He can give you all the options you have and what you can start doing, even at your young age. So, by the time you're ready for boot camp or OCS, you will be well informed and ready. Don't forget to ask him about the prospects for Annapolis. You are at the right age to consider these option, too ! |

You can contact them whenever, but if you want to JOIN then you either need to be 18 or have permission from both your parents, be emancipated, or married. |

I am interested in the marines recruitment, wish to join, i am a Liberian, age 33 have military experience, gone under many military training, infantry, musketry/weapons training & combat movement. and a graduate of Booker T. Washington Vocational Institute in Liberia, West Africa Institute of Computer Technology also a graduate and 2 and half year university study in Economy and Accounting university of Liberia. with excellent English writing & speaking background. with little French speaking knowledge. |
