Air Force Officer or Enlisted?
|
I have around two years of college left and when I finish I should be around the age of 23 years old. My ultimate goal is to become a lawyer but I myself will never be able to pay for law school on my own. I was thinking of joining the Air Force after college to help pay for law school. Would it be smarter to try and become an officer or just enlist for a short term? I was also wondering if I decided to just enlist in the Air Force what is the shortest term I would serve and what is the typical salary of a college graduate? Thanks for all the answers.

if you go officer, you go to college, then enter the service, if you enlist, sign up for the gi bill, you can go after you get out, i think it takes 4 years min but i have seen 2yr deals w/the reserves. today might be different with enlistment deals, go to a military website(army, navy, etc) and look for deals. what you would make is impossible to say but college grads make more. |

If you already have 2 years of college and you enlisted right now with those 2 years under your belt you would go in as a E-3 instead of E-1. If you finished college with a 4 year degree you would go in as an Officer. I dunno what there pay is, but you can look it up. You have to have a 4 year degree in order to go in as an officer though. Or ROTC. The minimum you can do is 4 years. But when your 4 years is up you still have 4 more years in your contract that they can call you back if needed. so technically it's really 8 years.
You can go to college while in the air force. They have there own community college on base just so you know that. |

As far as I know they don't take college account into pay. You're payed off of rank and what your career is, ie. hazard pay. I believe the shortest term that you can enlist for is four years. If I were you I'd go through basic and see if you can get into OCS to become an officer so that you can pay for school. |
