Air Force husband in training and wife pregnant?
|
I might be pregnant. But it's too early to tell and my husband is recently enlisted in the Air Force. If I am pregnant the baby will be due when he's almost done with Tech School . Would they allow him to miss a day or two to watch the baby being born? Additional Details -Having the kid is the mission idiot.

I can speak from experience of my MIL, she was in the hospital when having her youngest when her husband was in tech school. They would not let him leave and he did not get to see him until a week after the birth, My husband ended up having to be the man in the house and take care of her during the birth. This is just the life of the military. You will be married and a single parent. She went through all of this with me before my husband enlisted in the US Air Force.
Now, there is always the possibilty that his CO will be nice and let him take his exams early, but there is no guarantees and they arent all nice.
I wish you luck and a safe and healthy pregnancy. Dont let these things stress you and your baby out too much and surround yourself with as much family and friends as you can. |

The mission comes first and he doesn't need to be there. |

Nope, if you miss training in tech School, there is no way to make it up, you get rolled back to the next class.
And they will only do that for an emergency.
There is nothing he can do, to help you have the baby. |

Unfortunately, no. They won't let them leave training for the birth, no matter how close it is. He will get some time to come home before reporting to his duty station and he can see you and your new child then. You won't be the first military wife to deal with pregnancy and birth alone and you certainly won't be the last :0 The only instance they would let him leave training is for death of an immediate famiy member.
Depending on how long his Tech School is, he may not be able to leave the base during his training. There are different phases and believe me, he will be studying his *** off. You are only authorized to go to his Tech school location if his training is over 26 weeks long, most Tech Schools are not. He can't just "take a couple hours" off...it just doesn't work that way with the military. You'll learn...lol....
The "mission" refers to the AF. His job in the AF, the Air Force Mission, take precedent over all other things. Get used to this, he'll miss so many things. My husband missed our son's fist birthday, first words, first steps...you'll get over it and make new "firsts" to remember together! |
