I am pregnant (due next month) and my bf is thinking of enlisting in the air force I heard they won't let him join unless we get married first. Its not a problem for us as we plan on getting married anyway just wondering if that is true or not.

Also the website said that his max weight would 214 pounds b/c he is 6'2. is that true also? He is currently around 240 but its muscle not fat and doesn't want to get that small (he was 220 in high school but gained the weight to play defense in college).

Thank you so much for your help, we also plan on talking with a recruiter probably 2morrow but i'm just curious now. lol Thanks again.

Paradox

If an new recruit doesn't pass the height-weight standards in the AF, they do a "body fat" measurement (started in 2004). The maximum is 20% for males under 30 and 24% for over 30. See DoD Instruction 1308.3 for details on how to measure body fat.

Miscellaneous

I've never heard that you have to be married first. He should be able to join. Depends on what he wants to do in the military. Make sure he studies rigorously for the ASVAB b/c that's really important. The higher the score, the more opportunities ;)
