Air force bachelor's degree information?

i have enlisted in the US air force and shipping out on may 19th 2009 (7 weeks)

after over 6 months waiting in DEP i got the best and easiest job as it seems it's a 4Y***** dental assitant so my job involves setting up dental tools,performing emergency procedures etc.

alot of my friends are vets and said you'll be in a dental office all day making sure the chair is comfy and that kind of crap i gained E-2 because of current college credits.

i was wondering if ill be able to get my bachelor's in 4 years in B.S finance and minoring in Acctg? please help me most useful answer gets 15 pts.plz let me know if i have to extend my term by 24 months (6years) or go for another full 4 years? i cant apply for commisioning prgrm because im not citizen yet

Well, if you're not a U.S citizen, it's going to be extremely difficiult, if not i mpossible to gain a BS degree. Here are four good programs. Look them up at the Air Force's website. These are the programs, they are all by AFROTC:

POC-ERP
SOAR
AECP
ASCP

However, these programs are said to be very competitive to get into while on active duty. You can, however, enlist in one of these programs after you serve your term of 2 or 4 years. I think a few of these require you to be a U.S citizen. Get your citizenship, that's holding you back from completing your objectives.

I did not bother to get my degree till now. I loved the Air Force so much I lost track of education. During the last 2 years, I buckled down and should finish my B.S. this August....

It is possible to earn a 4 year degree while on active duty

But almost impossible to do in 4 years.

It is hard enough earning a BS degree in 4 years, going full time.

The average time is 5 years nowadays.

But to do so while working 8 to 12 hour days and deploying, makes it almost impossible.

The Air Force usually does NOT let you extend your enlistment for personal reasons. You would have to reenlist.

But, if you deploy to a war zone, you can apply for citizenship after
( one day ) in the war zone.

Then you can apply for a degree competeuion program after you have several years of college credit earned.

enlisting will help you get your citizenship. by the time basic and your tech school is over you'll be about 21ish credits from your CCAF (Community College of the Air Force) and the rest of your credits can be CLEPed or taken classes for. You're degree would be something related to your job though, but your credits can go toward your other degree when you go for your BS. If you are active duty, you probably will not complete your degree during four years. You can opt to reenlist and then submit your application to OTS during your term, that is not breaking your contract.
