my husband to be (on 10/10/09) is joining the marines and wont leave for bootcamp til november.... i want a marine wife opinion on how it feels to be a military wife and how it has effected you. my fiance has made up his mind to go... but if i feel uncomfortable with it, he wont go. i want him to go, im very proud of him for finally looking into something he has thought about for a long time. but i just need a girls point of view. :)
any one wanna help a new girl to the marine wife life? lol

Well, its difficult. They work alot. And deployments are difficult. Im doing my 2nd deployment with my husband and its a challenge. What ive learned is that communication is the key to a successful relationship. Try not to get upset if he comes home tired and all he wants to do is sleep. Its hard on them. And just learn to be open with him. Have fun! Enjoy having him around as much as possible because you never know when they will deploy! Less then 2months after my husband graduated from his MOS school, he was shipped off to iraq! That wasnt fun!

well im not a marine wife, nor a wife yet, but my boyfriend left for basic training about three months ago, he will be home in 17 days!!! but we are getting married when he gets back, i wanted him to go, because he was stuck at a dead end job, and he could use some sence of self-pride. which he does have now, and i am extremley proud of him, plus its like an adrenelen rush when he comes back because hes like a whole new man!!! ima eat him up!! lol i have so much new respect, and pride, for him. and i even think i love him more now then before he left, sounds bad i know, "sorry hun" but i do. its a tough road, not looking forward to deployment, but someone has to do it and all we can do is make sure they know we love them and hope for the best. good luck to you and your hubby! |
