This isn't really an answer... but I'm so proud to be British! I'm only half British by blood, but this is where my heart is. We're simply a great nation... possibly the greatest nation on Earth.

Not only no but HELL no. First your so called royal family take all your money and kill your economy. They are among the richest in the country but don't pay taxes. Why you pay outrageous taxes. I know I lived in England. As for your military I personal do not have anything against them, but don't forget all your Brits would be speaking German if it was for the American Military saving your ***. Not to mention that New Jersey is bigger than your entire country. Otherwise the USA shits bigger than England. Jealous, not even close. American is and will always be the greatest country in the World.

I'm proud I have ancestry from Great Britain, and proud they are allies today!
We're a young country, and Great Britain dealt with our leaving their rule with surprising grace once they realized they had no choice (that trick of Ben Franklin's of alerting France of what it would take to retake the colonies was Awful sneaky...but it worked, and we couldn't have stopped England from retaking us without it).

Those few that are jealous? There must be some, we have such a diverse and experimental society. They must be under the conception that such things are good, but not be aware that they have the freedom to do those things here, in time, if they choose. They have the freedom. They have time.

Oh, we'll always have our parent country (now one of many as we adopt ideas and learn from all sorts of countries), and we'll always, deep down, respect Britain greatly for the shared heritage we have.

But like any parent, you have to let go sometime. If you've done well, and set a good example, we'll continue to fly free and strong.

We worry that our parent has gotten too socialist (we have the same problem), but we're awfully glad our freedom didn't come at the expense of losing Great Britain, or vice versa.

I have to be honest with you man, you Brits come off as really soft. And the royal family tradtion is very very very outdated. I guess you have a decent air force, but why in the hell would an american be jealous of your armed forces?

No, I am not. I am from Tennessee. We have an old saying. Those perfect white cross belt's on your red coat's made a perfect target over your soldier's heart's. We proved it in both the Revolution and War of 1812. And we also did not like your King's, Earl's, Lord's, and Sir's trying to tell us what to do. My family on one side came from the Lakeland District in the UK. I understand it has an old tradition of the one place in England the Norman's could not conquer, until it decided to join from pressure from the Scot's. On the other my mother's family were French Huguenot's who came to Va. in the late 1600's. After the repel of "The Edict of Nante's". We are Scot, Irish, Swede, and Chickasaw Indian as well...You English have been saved by us a couple of time's and I hold we are fully equal to any of you. No, sorry; I find the monarchy to be interesting in an historical sort of way, but I certainly don't envy it. Likewise, the history is interesting in general, since it impacts our own, but it IS history. The UK armed forces are really not of much consequence as compared to those of the US, of course.

The world is a much bigger place now, and both the US and the UK have their roles in it; I'm happy with living in the US. It doesn't mean I have to knock another nation to feel good about myself.

Not really. You have A tradition...we have traditionS! Royal families don't have the power they used to, we have many people with money and power. Armed forces? At least we use ours before we NEED to. But I do want to say thank you for helping ours out and lending a helping hand after 9/11.

I am glade not to have a royal family here in the US. Look we get to pick the main person by voting. The most a person can hold the White House on their own election is 8 years. How long has Charges been waiting? Or has to wait? If you remember it was the US military that turned the tide in WWI and WWII. So I am very happy to be here in the US and I hope that you enjoy England.

What is there to be jealous of? Yes there is a lot tradition, but see the Bristish havent won a war, since we left! (thank you Carlos Mencia). The best of the best have come to america. No, last thing we need is to blow billions on a giant inbred "royal" family. Armed forces? Like the ones who wimped out in Iran? We had embassy clerks who held on for more than a year. We do like James Bond, though. Pretty crafty guy, always gets his killers talking instead of just pulling the trigger.

No... but I love England, and its rich history. I love the way you talk. You sound smart even when you say things that are not so smart. And, most Americans recognize England as our mother. We Americans just got tired of being told what to do and told mom to leave, but we still call and want English tea. It is so good.
