I originally enlisted as a 46R in the National Guard with a bonus of 20,000. After BCT and AIT, I received the first half of my bonus and everything was fine. I moved up to Tennessee about a year ago after the inter-state coordinator told me there was a slot available for me in a unit here. Unfortunately, it wasn't an ACTIVE slot, meaning I wouldn't have gotten my bonus money.
He told me that if I switched MOS to finance, I would still get my bonus money, provided I became MOS-Q within a certain amount of time. (Don't remember what it was) So I did that. I'm supposed to get the rest of my bonus at the end of this month, and I'm getting kind of antsy about it, what with the economy being so bad, and all...
Should I have gotten this in writing? I don't think the guy was deliberately trying to swindle me, but crazy sh*t tends to happen when you don't ask the right questions in the army. The big question is: Will I definitely be getting my bonus?
