Anti War protesters: If you are not willing to stand behind our troops are you willing to stand in front?

I just got back from there, Funny thing though I do not recall seeing you over there. Where were you?

I am sorry to see that you had to take those insults from that Troll who calls himself Cons_are_wimps and that other Troll Freddie (the freeloader).
I am not an antiwar protester but I am a Democrat which is a party that has more than its share of anti war protesters. Is that sufficient to allow me to answer the question?
I support our troops. I am often disappointed in my fellow Democrats who often say that they are opposed to the war but they support the troops.
I know them well enough to know they not only do not support the war, they do not support the troops either, despite their protestations to the contrary.
Sometimes it makes me feel a little lonely being a Democrat and having to debate the anti war (anti troop) characters all the time.
I see it as my way of making the world a better place, converting one of my fellow Democrats one at a time, no matter how discouraging and time consuming that may be.
Thank you for a great question and thank you for your service. |

Uh, that (standing in the front lines) would defeat the anti-war stance, wouldn't it? And the Repubs are always the ones voting in Congress to close military bases at home and cut funding and benefits for the troops. How very patriotic of these chicken hawks! |

This Question presumes that to be against a war, you are necessarily against the soldiers. I Believe that most protesters "support the troops," but are opposed to those leading them into battle. |

Bush stands behind them; waaaay behind them, like he hid behind his fathers skirt to get out of TANG.

This AMERICAN stands with The Constitution and The Bill of Rights! Why don't you?
If you support "fighting them over there", then why are you NOT "over there fighting"? |

Are you serious? You actually posted a question using one of the crappy ill-conceived retardedly impossible situation mantra's that republicans think are clever?
That's from like, 2004. If you're going to use crappy mantra's at least make it interesting. |

If you can tell me what we're fighting for and who the enemy is without lying or giving me misinformation, I'll bring them all fresh baked cookies. |

This makes NO sense on two levels.
If you are anti-war and for whatever reason didn't support the troops, then the whole point of that would mean they are not willing to "stand in front". I don't see where your logic (or lack thereof) is going.
And two, just because you are anti war DOES NOT mean you dont support the troops. I believe what we are doing in Iraq is miguided and poorly planned, but you better believe that I have deep respect for our men and women over there sacrificing their lives and families and am praying for them. Next time don't give us an ultimatium. It didn't work very well for Bush, and it definately didn't work well for you. |

War is a Racket
By Major General Smedley Butler
War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the many.
I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.
I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.
There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism.
It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.
I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.
I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.
During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents. |

I back our troops, just as my family backed me during Viet Nam. I believe we must be tested from time to time to ensure our resolve to maintain our freedom and to protect the rights of others who are forced to follow ruthless leaders. We defend more than freedom. This Muslim war is about our Christian beliefs. If you believe in a Heavenly creator based upon Christian values taught by Jesus Christ, you must back our troops, even if you do not believe in the reasons the adminisration put us into the war.
Anti war protestors are quick to use the American right to speak their peace without recognizing how the right came about. How many protestors have been at the front where the real war is fought? I would bet NONE! Anti war protestors should make their voice known in FRONT of the rifles, tanks, and other war machines!! Perhaps then they could get a better understanding of the meaning of the war to those who fight to maintain our freedom and rights so graciously provided by our ancestors.
Your efforts to stop the war will not bring to a close the war. The job is not even half done. If we pull out now, the current Iraq government will fail and another dictator will emerge. All the efforts before now will not gain the foothold of freedom for the Iraqi people and they will return to more of the same past. The internal strife must pass before free elections will be meaningful. |

Its a trick question. There has and always will be an anti-war movement in this country and they rely on the sacrifices of others to ensure their rights to voice their opinions. Without those sacrifices and the dedication that those in uniform have towards our constitution there would be no anti-war movement; only those that fight, those that support those in the fight, and those that cower in the corner because they don't have the courage to risk their lives for what they believe. Whether the war was just or not is open to different interpretations of what constitutes national security. The successful conclusion of a war, which is not a partisan issue, is a matter of loyalty not politics. Loyalty is something the anti-war movement knows little about which is why they would hold those in uniform in utter contempt if only it weren't currently politically incorrect. |

I try to stand in the middle of all this as is always causing trouble.
But i watched a Anniversary prog on the Falklands War where our troops fought. And they spoke to a Mother whom had lost
her son, when she was asked was it worth the loss, she said she said she had to believe it or his death would have been for nothing and no one.
So maybe we should think about this, and maybe if you dont support the war but at least support the mothers and wifes and make them feel there loss or even if there men are over there are worth something and the loss is worth even more.
This isnt supporting the war if you dont want to but supporting your friends family and country i suppose but nowdays that seems to be lost around the world no matter where you live. |

Anti-war protesters don't stand anywhere. Remember right before the Iraq war started, when a bunch of anti-war protesters went to Iraq to serve as human shields? Then they all went to places like hospitals and schools, where we weren't going to be attacking anyway. Then when it looked like we were about to attack, they all left, because they said it was too dangerous for them to be there. That was hilarious. |

NO NO NO. As a military guy (retired Marine) the last thing I want is clowns ands cowards like them anywhere near the real fighting. I don't want to get run over by the stampede as they run for the rear when the shooting starts. Besides, it's much safer to snipe and criticize from the safety of the sidelines than to actually ever risk anything. So, they will do neither. |

I will stand in front of them...

After I am done raping them from behind,I will gladly stand in front of them so they can finish me off with their mouths...I think that's what that question means right??? |
