I did not do Ranger, but I did Sapper back in '01.
1) Do a lot of rucking... and not that 35lb crap... up the weight. During my field phase we were carrying 70lb - 90lb rucks.
2) As the other guy stated, mind over matter. Don't let your mind give up. You will be surprised what you can get through if you put your mind to it.
3) Rangers (and Sappers) are not individuals... they are teams. That is what makes them so efficient. Help your team mates and they will help you. |

You can buy the Ranger Handbook pretty much at any bookstore. Learn the Ranger Creed, have that memorized before you get to school.
As for the rest, just remember the goal, keep your mind right and always give 150%. Take criticism to heart, but remember, it's not personal, they are trying to make you a leader, learn from your mistakes, but don't do the same mistake twice. Run, run and run some more. Good luck. |
