My husband is active duty U.S. Army officer, he still owes 3 years active, 5 inactive, someone mentioned to him the other day something about doing AGR afterward. I was just wondering what that is exactly and some info about it or where I can go to find the info myself. Thanks so much for any info!

Oh and is it just the same thing as reserve or guard?

Well the reserve AGR is like being Active Duty, you get PCS. AGR in the Guard you must belong to that state and bid on jobs. you can find AGR job opening in every state, just search for in on the web. I've been AGR now for 19+yrs...and about to retire from AGR. I've only PCS one time, and been deployed only 3 time. GO Guard! |

AGR is Active Guard and Reserve....you are guard or reserve but on active status. For instance, One of the guys I work with keeps volunteering for active duty at the reception battalion so that he doesn't have to deploy. Now not every guardsmen or reservist is that low of a creature, but that is one example that I am very familiar with. |
