Is there an age limit for active duty to live in the dorms. For example, if you are over 35 can you still live in the barracks?

oh yeah.... til the day you retire... the barracks get better with more rank that you make.....E-7 and above have beautiful barracks |

There is no age limit. Rank has more of a bearing than age. |

There is no age limit for the living in the barracks it goes by rank. E-4 and below are not allowed to live off post they are required to live in the barracks. You can file for B.A.H but are not guaranteed you'll get it. Every post has different rules for the housing authorities but for the most part they are all dictated by rank and how full the barracks are. |

Barracks billeting is determined by rank and marital status, not by age.
Nowdays we have PVTs who are almost 40, and they live in the barracks with the 19 year old PVTs. |

You can live in the barracks indefinitely. However, when you leave the barracks may be determined by your rank, not your age. |

it is not an age thing. it is about rank. my unit allowes E-5's to live in the barracks, but only if they want to. they prefer it to be E-4 and below, but even then they allow E-4's to move off base if they want to. each base is different. but a good rule of thumb,.. if you are E-4 and under,. your A** is staying in the barracks. |

there is no age limit on living in the Barracks, but there usually is a rank limit. I.E. some places willl not let E-4 or below move out of the barracks unless the soldier is married. |
