It's not a soldiers job, or a veterans job or obligation to agree with everything the military does. It's only a soldiers job and obligation to do what the military says.

Veterans who are against the war are entitled to feel that way. It doesn't mean they don't support their fellow soldiers. They simply don't agree with the decision of the administration.

Any veteran that has served in a combat zone, has the right to be for or against that particular war.
My son served 15 months in Iraq and was totally against what was happening over there. He was greatly affected by his time there and would not even talk about it.

Those who are against are the one's who came into the military only to make money and to get the GI Bill..They are a pain in the butt to the ones who truely serve their country..Low and behold,They gotta go to war..Ahhh poor babies..Those people are a very small minority anyways but the media makes it sound like its 90% of all soldier's..

i agree with points one through 10 except 5. allowing individual troops to decide what's moral or illegal and then decide what wars they are going to participate in would create chaos in the army and destroy it's ability to ever function.

Veterans of the Iraq war have every right to be heard, but it is poor form for those still in military service to openly challenge the government or military choices.

Simple fact is, war is hell, no 2 ways about it. Those who enlisted did so knowing that they may be sent to war. Once you take that oath, you are sworn to follow ALL orders. It is not the decision of the individual soldier, sailor, Marine, or airman to decide if they feel the war is just. The orders come down, you follow them, period. When people decide what orders to follow and what ones not to, people die.

The life of those in the military is not easy and they knew that when they enlisted. Families are torn apart for extended periods of time, the thing you see there will haunt you for the rest of your life. And something will almost burn their image into your brain and never let you go a day without remembering them. Its hard, its hell, but that's life right now.

Every man woman and child is entitled to their personal opinion, but those who are still in service to the military are bound by their service to not openly question government decisions and military deployments or tactics.

And those who are past their service and have separated from the military, they have every place to say whatever they choose to. but they should know better than anyone else that insulting the government and slinging accusations is not what is important right now. Showing our troops that they have ever citizen's support and hopes for a safe return, is the most important thing this country can focus on right now. Nothing else is more important.

This is my opinion, other may disagree with me and I am open to acknowledge anyone may be more educated on the subject or have more input than I do. but this is my stance, and this is what and how I feel.

I thought Heinlein had the germ of a great idea when, in a really bad novel, he proposed that all wars (other than those in direct defense during invasion) be put to popular vote -- and everyone who voted for the war was automatically enlisted.

Neither - they are just some people with opinions.

BTW - they are only a tiny percentage of the people who have been over there. Why should we listen to them but not the 95% of those who werved over there and disagree with them?

?
I talked to several Veterans and most wanted to return to the services I was mighty proud of those men and women and all of you should be to, look at the good of those orphans children, our service men and women have a very strong heart of gold.

They have some valid points, but serving my country is trusting in my commanders. If this war is illegal than let congress determine it. Some of the reasons are purely personal. If the war is tearing families apart, it is no different than families affected by alcoholism (something else in the military) that has been going on since before the War on Terrorism. I like to keep my personal life out of my opinion. So I can say this. Yes I agree with some points, but not all points. Everyone has a right to be heard, but I have the right to listen and have my own opinion.

This is the United State of America. They have the right to express their opinion the same as every other citizen of this country. I may agree or disagree with their opinion one way or the other, but I absolutely support their right (or the right of any other citizen) to voice it. I'm a vet and a military retiree. One thing I do not agree with them on is reason number 2. The UN has no say over the actions of this government. If they weren't useless, they would have taken action on Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Darfur, etc... Reason number 5 is total nonsense. My disagreement does not constitute a personal decision that they are right or wrong, I simply don't agree with them.

A combat veteran/soldier has earned all of his rights in the Bill of Rights. (All others have had the luck to be born into it.) He has also made a commitment to protect those rights and follow the orders of the President. As long as he follows regulations in order to prevent presenting his political views as being representative of the Army itself, I have no problems with that. As long as he obeys the lawful orders he's given (and no he has no place to claim this war is unconstitutional), then I won't press for his prosecution.

I'd venture to say your list is pretty short. I told you before I'm not following your conspiracy theory links.

They are ******* if they are against the war. What the hell did they sign up for, regret? Dumb. I would not regret anything I do, and I do not regret my beautiful country from attacking this stupid threat. Ok, so we were attacked, and fooled with fake nukes, but they did threaten us. Live with it. War is human nature.
