(for what it is worth, to make generalizations about any social, religious, gender, or race is to be stereotyping that group. Well, stereotypes are just a bias way of grouping a lot of people together that you don't even know. The best way to find out what that group is all about is to meet alot of them, wether it be arab's, mormon's, women, or ... even Marines!

No way. Marines are the most professional bunch of guys I know of. The stereotype of the aw shucks down-home country bumpkin that's abusive and an alcoholic and that got kicked out of high school is ridiculous. One of my best friends is a Lance Corporal...3.7GPA, student council, varsity soccer, devout catholic. The media does not do a very good job of portraying them the way they really are. |

No man. they are just some happy young guys, ready to take the enemy.
every branch can be like that. Marines , Army Navy, Air force, none of those guys are crazy.
but are they extremely happy to serve?
YES.
are they gonna show it?
YES...
none of them are maniacs. they are jut taught to be aggressive,so in combat they do not screw up. |

Consider the source of your information. Marines are still human and I'm sure they have their share of bag eggs but overall they are good people. |

No my Uncle is an excellent man and was an Infantry (indirect fire) Marine. No one bit have I ever thought of him to be crazy. |

They are warriors and American society has gotten so weak that anyone who is a warrior is looked on as being "freaking crazy". Thank God for freaking crazy Marines. WSithout them there would be no America. |

No absolutely not. They are perceived as evil. Because the Marines is a small branch. Not everyone knows what goes on in it. They are a very tight knit group. Many Marines are Fathers, Husbands, and family men. Not crazy at all. But, they are also the best warriors. :) |

Not all of them its like everything, there's crazy people that aren't marines. I know some that are very calm.
My husband is a marine, he use to be crazy but now hes very calm. |

nooo we are not crazy. jus a stereotype cuz we have a strong ethos and were a big brotherhood. were jus all motivated cuz we luv the **** we do and the fact that were the best. people who havnt gone threw boot camp have a hard time undertanding this. YUTT! |

No those in the marines are not really maniacs. they are just a little fanatical about what they do and they take great pride in being a marine. LIke it was once said, the only difference between the marines and any other branch of the military...............is their intense pride.
I'm not sure by what you mean maniacs, but they are just as normal and sain as the rest of us in other branches of the military. They are just very prideful in what they do and there heritage=)
