Depends on the person, the marriage itself and the deployment. can you handle not being able to talk to your spouse for 2 days, 7 days, 2 weeks, 30 days, over 60 days? Can you handled limited words allowed to be said when you do have contact? Can you handle being alone at night without someone holding you close? Can you handle stressful situations by yourself? Can you handle being away from family and friends in a place where you don't really know anyone? can you handle hearing rumors about what happens in the port calls? can you trust your spouse?
To be honest longer deployments sometimes are better than short exercises because you can get yourself in a routine. You know they are going to be gone for a longer period of time and get everything going. It can be difficult at times when you don't hear from them on days on end, weeks and even months. But if you are a strong person who can survive on your own for awile then you should be fine. Just don't sit there waiting for phone calls or letters or him to come back because that will make it worse. Get out go to school, work, volunteer, go to the FRG meetings, go on excursions with other spouses, etc... Stay busy and the time will go by faster. |

i spent 10 yrs in and many deployments. its not easy for wife or husband. but look for your husband's company support group for the wives. if he is enlisted see the top enlisted wife and if he is an officer see the top officer;s wife. the military has a great support chain. the base chaplain can also help. that's what they are there for. good luck. everything will be fine and be there for each other. help can also be found on line |

It really depends on the wife. If the wife loves her husband then they are bad and she will miss him, but she will survive and they will make it through it. If she is a wh0re, then a deployment is good for her, because she will be sleeping around with everyone in town while her man is away. I've seen both cases with military wives and it really is 50/50. |

It really depends on your outlook. One thing that is a must is having a job...something that you can get out and do every day. It can get quite boring though. |
