Are soldiers still being deployed to Iraq after President Obama's exit strategy?

As the title says, President Obama has an exit strategy to pull out all but 30,000~50,000 troops by 2010, and the remaining troops by 2011... will soldiers continue to be deployed to Iraq in the mean time? I'm curious because someone close to me just recently joined the army (as a combat medic) and was concerned if she will be deployed to Iraq or not.

Yes we are - the draw down will take time and some units are being rotated home and need to be replaced before the draw-down is complete. |

Yes, a friend of ours is going in June.
But don't forget Afghanistan. We are still very much active there.
My husband's unit is shipping out next year, and another just left. |

YES! A friend of mine just left with the Oregon National Guard this past Monday on 4/13/09. My ex husband is also over there. He was originally scheduled to come home in July. Even with Obama in office, that date has not moved forward at all. |

Soldiers are actually being deployed earlier than they were scheduled in order to get the soldiers currently over there out.
The total number of soldiers over in Iraq are supposed to be slowly reduce but they will still need to send troops in order to replace the ones leaving.
Some one very close to me will be going early february.

right now there are still deployments going out and vice versa.. I dont know how many more into the future, but ive got my fingers crossed.. i dont know what id do if my husband got deployed again.. =( |
