Are there a lot of soldiers in combat arms MOS that wear glasses?

I wear my glasses pretty much all the time now, and a combat MOS is definitely what I'll be doing. But I started thinking about how much of a pain in the *** they would be if you were in the field or deployed.

I've worn them for 10 of my 20 years in the Infantry - they are a pain but if you need them you need them.

The same percentage as in any other mos.

Sure they do my stepdad is a Major in the Infantry and not once did he wear contacts, he went glasses every single time. And just so you know if you drop a contact in the field you are screwed and plus you wouldn't want to put a bunch of dirt in your eye, but if you drop your glasses you can pick them right up and dust them off. I would pick glasses over contacts any day in the field.

They will fuse to your eyeballs during an IED explosion. they tell you not to for a reason...........

My husband wears both contacts and glasses, he is a Ranger and he takes both when he deploys, I think he uses contacts more...he wants lasik surgery.
know I am not a soldier..just a spouse but hope that info helps
