Are you aware that many more babies in the United States will be killed in their mother's wombs and thrown in the trash? They will be dead and forgotten forever...never having had a chance to live their lives... |

AND THIS MEANS WHAT ? THEY SIGNED UP TO GO TO THE MILITARY, NOT JUST FOR THE COLLEGE BENEFITS. WAR IS WAR, PEOPLE DIE IN WARS. DID YOU KNOW THAT TOMORROW OUR COUNTRY WILL STILL BE FREE BECAUSE OF THEIR SACRIFICE? THE SOLDIERS OF TODAY ARE GETTING MUCH BETTER TREATMENT THAN THE SOLDIER THAT CAME BACK FROM VIETNAM. WE OWE THE VIETNAM VETS A TREMENDOUS APOLOGY FOR BEING TREATED THE WAY THEY WERE. OOH RAH. |

Yes. I will be sure to be thankful for those who put themselves in harms way so that I may be free.

Did Cindy Sheehan ever get a decent marker for her son's grave with all that money she got? |

They will not be forgotten, nor will those from Vietnam. Your ignorance is astounding. |

I most definitely will have to agree with "ME" (first answer). It is very sad that men and woman die every day over there but they will not be forgotten. They will be remembered and loved always by their families, friends, unit, and country. |

It goes without saying...
that you're a weak punk.
They are dying so we can live in a free nation.
Better they fight them over there, than we fight them over here.
Let me clue you in on a little secret, when the day comes that we have to fight them in this nation, you'll be conscripted.
I doubt that you're an American. |

What you type is true in some ways, but oh so sad. Because whomever those "men" might be, they will never be forgotten by their families, their unit members, their friends, or their country. |

Are you aware that YOU will die and be more forgotten than any army man? |

You never know when no one will be killed there, or when hundreds will be killed in Iraq. It's like roulette, the one time it lands on the number you bet on is the day is all goes right for once.
But as for your reference to Nam, I have to add these lyrics:
"Where do all the dead men go
From the battlefields?
Where are their exploded bones
Their useless swords and shields?
In the Hall of Ancient gods,
Are they now at piece,
Or are they fighting evermore
To earn their last release?
Midgard, Heaven, Kingdom Come
Are they all the same
Fallen heroes warriors
The valiant the slain
Did they beleive or did they die in vain?
Immortal dead, fathers and sons
When all is said and all is done,
Running for your life, dying for the cause
Pawns in the game
Voices from the war." -Motörhead: "Voices From the War" |

isn't that a daily occurrence?
they will not be forgotten. I am sure that they have family back-home (wherever that might be) who will never forget their sons, brothers, fathers, husbands...
nobody is EVER forgotten if you think about it..because even though YOU might not give them a second thought, their family (who loves them) WILL. |

No they will never be forgotten. Those that are in the American military signed up to serve their country. They are there because it's where they wanted to be. And America honors it's military with special holidays. People are busy right now as I type doing things like putting together care packages for soldiers. Not to mention helping out the families left behind.
What I know is that none of us ever really know when our time will be up. |

saddly...yes |

?

Yea I'm aware but harsh as it sounds they signed up voluntarily the army didn't give them all that training just to play soldier.
Don't get me wrong 1 death is to many and the pain of their families must be unbearable but they knew what they signed up for.
In Vietnam they didn't have that choice so it's a different ball game altogether |

Not only will they be killed by the local opposition but also terminal illnesses by our military armaments that are coated with depleted uranium (see the latest news about the post Iraqi ex-soldier law suits against the US Govt) |

Are you aware that a couple of normal citizens will die on the roads, of heart attacks, strokes, cancer, drownings, lightening strikes, shark bites (no, strike that one, I'm going fishing tomorrow- lol), or by being murdered?
**** happens. |

We are at war.Of course we know some of our soldiers will be killed. That's what happens during a war.
I don't know what makes you think that they'll be forgotten. We have Memorial Day.It is specifcally to pay respect for our fallen heroes. You mention Vietnam KIAs and MIAs as being "forgotten".You obviously have never heard of , or participated in "Rolling Thunder", a most awesome spectacle.Enter "Rolling Thunder" and "Memorial Day" into any search engine, and you will see that your assumption couldn't be further from the truth! |
