It's only Vietnam to the extent that the media and peace activists are trying every strategy they can to turn public opinion away from supporting the war. Until then, we were winning Vietnam, but those against the war intimidated the politicians to pull back before the job was done. So, to continue your analogy, I would hope we would learn from history and stick it out, this time, until we have won the war.
"Cut and run" didn't work then, and it won't work now. |

While I don't like how things in Iraq appear to be now, at least with Vietnam communism was slowed down so that it didn't spread to the rest of SE Asia. |

How in the (HE.. double hokey sticks) can you compare Iraq with Vietnam? We lost over 50,000 Men in Vietnam. Despite the fact that we won every battle before we prematurely handed over control back to the south.
We are using the lessons learned in Vietnam to keep that kind of thing from happening again. The 2500 Men we have lost in Iraq would be considered a skirmish during in the Civil War.
You liberal pansies forget that the price of freedom is blood. It always has been it always will be. War has never been pretty it has always been ugly. What has changed is the resolve of “mens” hearts.
After 911 we had lost 2000 innocent civilians, women, children and the entire country was calling for war. Now that we are doing something about stopping that kind of thing from happening again you want to quit. How lucky for you… how very lucky for you that you have the right to speak what you think, to live where you want and you have a Military willing to defend your rights.
Even if you don’t appreciate it. |

Actually I'm sick of the thought of whats going to happen to this country when President Bush's term is over. If you look around the globe you will notice how the islamic jihadist muslims are over taking countries. It's coming! |

What is it exactly that you wanted him to do? Let the Terrorists take over. They are slowly doing that anyway with our military there.
I am so sick of hearing all the Bush bashing. Go ahead vote Democrat next time. Let the damn Democrats bring them all home. End the war!
Then I hope to God everybody prays real, real hard. Because we will be bombed and chemical warfare will be a reality to us all.
God bless my child! |

first of all please check the voting record of congress, Democrate and Republicans to see who voted for the Iraq invasion. The Clinton administration has to take just as much blame if you would bother to check the Congressional Record. It has no comparison to Vietnam (I was alive then...were you?). Grow up and please do your homework before spouting your liberal bias with no proof. How is your voting record? Did you do your part as an American citizen? (or are you even of voting age) I have family over in Iraq fighting to protect your right to say all this sh*t. Please use your energy to support our country and our troops, not to degrade them. |

What lie might that be? Had we not gone to war in Iraq it is possible that many more thousands of Americans could have died by the hands of Hussein. We dont know that for sure though because he did send our troops over there to protect us. Focus your attention somewhere else. The govt is going to do these things whether we agree or not. We should just wish them well and take care of our families. |

Yes, it's made me want to puke since the first time it reared its ugly head, and it's going to be far, far worse than Viet Nam.
Worse than 'Nam. If you told me thirty-five years ago that I'd ever be typing those words someday, I'd have said or done god-only-knows-what.
Let's put it simply. Afghanistan war good. Iraq war bad, very, very bad. Does opposite of what it was supposed to. Less safe, not more. Lots, lots less safe.
If Bush really, truly believed "Saddam Hussein has thousands of tons of bacteriological weapons stockpiled, including smallpox, anthrax, Ricin, Ebola virus, and the plague, and he poses a clear and present danger to the US and it's allies and our brave men and woman in uniform," if Bush truly believed that, why did he fail to protect us in his so-called "War On Terror"?
When Bush made these speeches at Union Terminal in Cincinnati on October 7, 2002, and again at the State of the Union Address on January 29, 2003, he said he had worked out a plan called "Project BioShield." For six billion dollars, he could protect all of America with a vaccine and antibiotics. That comes to $24 apiece for each and every one of us, and it comes from our own tax dollars. He promised us we'd have it within six months
We've spent $500 billion on Iraq so far, which is $2000 apiece.
So why weren't we worth $24 apiece in Bush's "War On Terror," and with our own money, but the people in iraq are worth our paying $2000 apiece to Bush, from money he stole out of all our own pockets?
I'd say his priorities are very clear in his "War On Terror." It's only worth it when he's the one doing the terrorizing. If somebody else is threatening to do it to us, its:
"Wow, $24 apiece. Phucque 'em. They're not worth it."
Project BioShield. Or Project BS for short...
So, when did you get your Cipron and Project BS? Was it lost in the mail for four years and counting like mine?
Or were all of the American people just on another list?
We have about 2,700 dead and counting. That's already as many as we lost on 9/11. We've given Iraq, a much smaller country than the US, about ten to fifteen times more civilian dead than what we suffered.
So THIS is how you fight the War On Terror and make new friends?
If it is, exactly what is it you do when you want to p!ss somebody off? I'd really like to know.
We're still not safe, or haven't you heard? Better late than never, Georgie! Where's my Project BS? For God's sake, at least give me some for the grandkids. I'll give you $2400 apiece for them and I'll consider myself lucky. They're worth so much more to me than just money. They're priceless.
Maybe not to you, but to me. Are they really not worth $24 to you? And you claim to be protecting us... that's the most assinine and pathetic thing I've ever heard...
And to the Knight dude under me... we lost 58,000 brave Americans in 'Nam, Cambodia, and Laos, including my first cousin I was raised with, my godfather, and countless friends and brothers. God, I wish we'd won every battle, but that is a clueless thing to say. We weren't even close to winning them all. And we handed the country over to the north. That's where China is in relationship to 'Nam. We were the south.
We've lost 2,700 hundred troops in Iraq so far, not 2500, and we lost 3000 on 9/11, not 2000. Iraq's only gone on for forty months. 'Nam went of for almost twenty-five years, so, as you can see, we're way ahead of target. 'Nam didn't even really start at all until after our fifth year.
Also, John Kerry was there. I'm not a democrat, but I still thought I should point that out. Bush and Cheney were the draft-dodgers, the ROTC puke fighting the war from an Air National Guard officer's club bar half a world away from the fight, doing whatever male cheerleaders do for a good time, and a fat sissy boy with no friends and a trumped-up deferment.
Just thought you should know for the next time.
Another point. Out of 435 congresspersons and 100 senators, name a single one who has a son or daughter serving in Iraq. You can't because nobody can.
I can name twenty kids over there right now, nephews and kids of family and friends. Viet Nam was like that, too.
"I ain't no fortunate son..."

It`s frustrating watching that man and his twist of lies. I don`t know how you Americans can stand it. Why do you put up with it? Are people just willing to accept what he does because they think thats their voice can`t make a difference, or do the majority of Americans aggree with him? I`ve always wondered.... |
