My hubby is having surgery for acetabular impingement syndrome and labral tears next month and I was wondering if anyone knows if this condition could cause him a medical discharge? If so how do you think that is would be rated percentage wise? Hes not actively wanting to get out of the army at this time so Im really just trying to see what to expect.

It is femural acetabular...not his shoulder

It would all depend on his recovery and whether or not he can still perform to the military standards that his job requires. Check out this site for ratings. It is only to be used as a guide, the rating are not written in gold pur se.

I'd wait and see how the surgery goes. Hopefully it will fix the problem.
If he's forced to go to a medical board and they want to discharge him as a result of his injury, be sure you file with the VA so that you can get disability. |
