I'm going into the Army (September). Will I need a Military ID to shop at the Army-Navy Stores in my area? I'm pretty sure I would need one if I were buying firearms (or would I), but what about other items like shirts and stuff? Thanks in advance!

If you're shopping on base, then yes, you'll need your military ID to get on base, or accompany an individual who has one, as a guest.
If you're enlisting in the Army, they will issue you your uniforms, no need to shop for them right now. |

To shop in a military exchange on a military base or grounds you will need a military ID to get in and then shop. Whether it is for electronics, clothing, food or anything else. If you don't have one you cannot. Now they are not called Army-Navy stores there are the AAFES, Bxtra, NEX, etc.. There is no combination of Army-Navy stores. Generally you can't buy firearms at them either. |

A/N stores(otherwise known as Military Surplus stores) are civilian run operations they are NOT affiliated with the military.
Campers and Hunters use them all the time no Military ID necessary. |
