Army basic training, how to obtain shoe/boot inserts for arch support?

During the physical at MEPS, I've read if a person has low arch's or flat feet they'll be given authorization to obtain shoe/boot inserts? Just wondering if they automatically authorize this after examining the feet or if you have to ask for them? Thank you

You go to sick call and see the medics or go to the PX and buy some. Either way. |

You will go to sick call and get them at basic. Thats what I did |

Hey they tell you that in MEPS and stuff But they don't really care about your feet, when you go to basic there going to make you buy the right shoe for your foot, when thats done they could careless, you just go to PX or mini PX and buy yourself some inserts. |

you have to tell them at the issue facility but if i were you i would get them prior to reporting cause the army tends to be slow about those things........ it took a month for me |

You can go to sickcall and see if you can get a referral to the clinic, if you can't get them in basic or AIT, you can get it at your clinic when you get to your unit. I was on my feet alot in my MOS, so you will need them, and you may want to get some at the store for your PT shoes, depends on you. The boot supports do not fit in PT shoes. |
