Murder is murder - it doens't matter if it happens in a war zone. If a civilian comitted a premeditated murder, they would be subject to the same sentence. If they are guilty, then they should be punished accordingly. |

The ones that raped victim before murdering absolutely, if they can prove it. |

I feel comfortable knowing the Army looked at this case at every possible angle to save these soldiers. I'm sure this was an extremely difficult decision to make, but the evidence must have been too overwhelming to come to any other conclusion. God bless them all. |

If the military tribunal has convicted them then yes. Even in wartime there is a line one should not cross. Deliberate killing of non-combattants is murder. |

I personally think it is a shame the type of soldiers we are sending over their. They are too young to be doing what they are doing. They are not prepared for what they are doing.
I was raised military. My father was a Marine. The first to fight. He served in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam twice. Back when he was a young soldier the military took pride in teaching them, training them and preparing them for battle. When he was fighting the common sense that should be with most of these young boys today was in every one of them. They were proud of their country and fought for their country the way they were trained and taught to fight.
The military today is not the military we had back then. They do not train their men the way they used to. They send them off to battle unprepared for the outcome. They do not stand behind them and do not support them when they come home.
My father watched his military benefits taken away from him one at a time. When he died my mother lost his military pension and is having to live off of his social security benefits.
They talk about draft? These kids some have raised today will never be military material. They will never have a chance if sent to battle. They have no respect and do not think past the end of their nose. Back when my father was raised children were raised to respect and to be the best they could be. Today everything is handed to them.
Moral to my story and thoughts is that I think they should prosecute and if the death penalty is what comes from it let it be a lesson to all the other young men in the military now. Let them take notice and learn from it. Just like the ones that abused and took the obscene pictures were prosecuted, it is no different. They have no morals about them because they were not raised with any.
It sounds harsh, but is the fact. |

If they are convicted. They are no different than any other criminal. |

It sure is interesting how much these people over there don't seem to bat an eye when they kill each other and their children. But when our military does something insane amongst an insane enemy we should be executed and brought to justice? HELL NO !. These guys should only be jailed as long as Saddam lives. Besides who would know if we faked it anyway. |

It's really sad. I think the guys down there are just doing when they're instructed to do and often someone pins their own mistakes on some one else. Being done there is enough to make someone go crazy and get paranoid so i'd hope they get counseling rather than any harsh punishment. |

If they were civilians then they would get the death penalty. The only reason they shouldn't is if they proved beyond a reasonable doubt that these individuals were under serious mental duress at the time these murders happened. Sounds like some soldiers got on a power trip. |

If found guilty the accused should be hung by the neck until dead. This should be done within twenty four hours of sentencing. The accused should be denied the dignity of a firing squad. |

i dont see how they would have proof to that |

If it was a fair hearing - then that's what they get.
And what about it? Yes, they shouldn't have done it (if they did) but the military is not perfect. Sometimes **** happens. Just like in regular life.
Would you be posting this about 4 civilians who did this crime? I doubt it -so get over your stupid vendetta against the military. |

War is hell. Prision time yes. death no. rules of engagement are scattered when you are on the front line. If they were just following orders, you always obey the last order given, then no they dont deserve even prision time. Their commander however should. |

No death penalty. What the soldiers did was horrible, but they were incited to that level of violence because of the war and because of all they have been exposed to. Innocent lives are lost during war on both sides. Prison time and time in a mental health facility would be more appropriate. |

I wouldn't recommend it in this case...maybe a short jail sentence 1-2 years or so. |

first, they are NOT going for the death penalty. 2nd. yea thats the way to build up all those good men's moral. they should declare "open season" on all those people just like they do to us. rules of war? what a joke.
