Marines.
You can be 'in the Army'.
or
You can 'become a Marine'.
No offense to my dog face brothers, but the Corps is more challenging. And there’s a difference in the eyes of the civilians between prior-service soldier & prior-service Marine. We tend to get a bit more *ahem* attention.
Plus our dress uniforms are much more awesome. |

My fiance is a Marine and he loves it. IN the army the deploy waay too long. If you have a family I would suggest the Marines or even the Navy. One thing you have to realize with any branch is that you will miss a lot of family time so if that's not a problem for you then go for it! As a matter of fact my fiance just got out of recruiting school. |

join the Marine Corps!
Marine Boot Camp is very challenging physically and mentally and it definitely isn't for everyone, do some research, talk to recruiters from both branches to help you decide.
Check out the forum in the link below and you can get some of your questions about the Corps answered by active duty Marines.

It really depends WHAT you want to do.....Marines are soldiers first, specialty second.....while in the army- your specialty training is what sets you apart from everyone else.
It is really hard to compare the two- update and please tell us what field ytou want to get into to |

Marine training is tougher unless you opt for Airborne (parachute) training. Why not go Army, and if you feel you are tough enough you can Go All The Way. If you're really in shape you can go into the Marines and still go through the same parachute training. Keep a sense of humor during training, but never, ever crack a grin in front of a drill instructor! |

They pay the same, so ask yourself, do you want the prestige and honor of saying you became a Marine, or would you rather have better duty stations, better facilities, and get new/better equipment faster, and still do the same job? |

ARMY is the better choice. I have a son in the ARMY who is leaving today for his new post. He says go ARMY, but if you are willing to go into a different field, then go Navy, it has more tech training.

I'm an army wife, and I love it. We chose it because it seemed like the more family-friendly option (not that there is a super family friendly option in the military). Marines is known to be tougher. The army's training (I've heard) is more transferrable to civilian life. It depends on what you want in life.
My hubby's ideal was air force, followed by coast guard, then army, then navy, lastly with marines. Then again, we didn't know much about marines at the times. I personally favor Army uniforms to Marine ones, but that's a minor thing in this question.
If it's a toss up, look at where the majority of the bases are. Where do you want to spend your next several years?
Do you prefer "Hooah!" or "Semper Fi"?? =P
