If you know you're wanting to go into the Special Operations Community then there's really only one question. Do you want your uniform to say US Army or US Marine on the uniform. They're missions, equipment, and most of the schooling are the same. The Special Forces (Green Berets) have a more diverse mission in that they'll train foreign Armies in Infantry and Specialized tactics. Other than that, as either you will attend many of the same school regardless of the branch. HALO, US Army Ranger School, several Sniper courses, defensive and tactical driving courses, SCUBA, SERE-C, US Army Airborne and several others. It's simply about who you want to belong to. I've chosen both.

I guess US Navy SEALS are saying we took out 3 terrorist pirates with 3 perfect shots from a moving ship instantaneously - what are the army doing lately :P

Then again, just look at previous US Army Ranger and Delta Force bravery during humanitarian efforts in nearby Somalia where the pirates came from.
