First of all you need to understand where "guarantees" come from. The Army offers the most bonus money, and the least amount of commitment time because they NEED people to join so badly. Why do they need people to join so badly? Because everyone is doing their minimum time and getting out. Why are so many getting out? Well it's obviously not because they like it. Once you join they even will offer you $2000 for each friend you can con into joining also. Why does the Army have the LOWEST required ASVAB score to join of all the other services?
Why does the Air Force require the longest minimum enlistment time? Because they put so much more money into your training. Remember in the Air Force your actually learning a skill/craft. Not to mention you may be working on multi-million dollar assets. Why do they not offer as much bonus money? Because people like it, so they don't get out as much, which in turn means they're not hurting enough for people to have to PAY them to join. Air Force has the HIGHEST required ASVAB score required to join.
My father and my sister were both in the army, the first thing they told me when I decided to join was "if your going to join anything, make sure it's either Air Force or Navy" I'm currently stationed on a Navy base, and have many Navy friends. 90% of them say they wish they had joined the Air Force. Let me put it this way, I have mingled with every service in their environment (Army, Navy, Marines) and not once have I ever thought to myself "man I wish I would have joined that service instead". But I have heard a person from EVERY one of those say it to me about the Air Force.
As far as college, in the Air Force you start earning college credits in basic training. Then you earn more when you go to "technical school" to learn how to do your job. Also the Air Force offers 100% paid college tuition the ENTIRE time you are in (and you actually have time to use it). Which means you go to college for free. And if you decide to get a degree in the career you are in, in the Air Force, then the college credits you earned at basic training and technical school apply. Usually after technical school you are at least half way or more to an associate’s degree.
Also, the Air Force has the MOST jobs of ANY service that apply to the civilian side after you get out/retire. So do you want a career that you can use for a lifetime? or some bonus money to live in the desert for a couple years then get out and be in the same situation?
Air Force also puts more emphasis and money towards family, standards of living, facilities... ect than all 3 of the other branches. Air Force bases typically have better housing, better bases and usually even better living conditions down range.
After being in and seeing all services, I would have to say the Navy or the Air Force above the other 2. But for me the choice is easy. Hope this helps your decision, let me know if you have any questions.
I do want to make one thing clear, no matter which service you choose, you are doing a good thing. |

As Sweetie 1 said, every answer you receive will depend upon the answerers branch of service, mine included.
The best branch for females, is the branch that can Guarantee you the largest number of things you are looking for, followed, in my opinion by, speed of promotions, duration of active duty commitment and money in addition to the GI Bill for after completion of service.
The Army and Navy are the top two services when it comes to guarantees, promotions and education money, while the Army stands alone in duration of active service (as little as 2 years plus training time).
If, however, you are looking for an easier Basic Training, go Air Force, but understand that they are the slowest promoting, have the longest active duty commitment and the least money to add to the GI Bill (if any). Additionally, the Air Force is reluctant, at best, to guarantee jobs prior to actual enlistment.
I won't address the Marines, because I never got to know any female Marines during my 18 years as an Army Recruiter.
Additionally, the Marines do not have any medical field, it is provided by the Navy. |

the MAN

My father is in the army, and my best friends mom is in the army, yes, your best bet is to do something in the medical field. It is more suitable. You can also do something that doesn't require physical strain, like computer or other things that are more feminine. Please don't take it the wrong way. :) |

Marine12
|
Well the Marines are the men's department of the Navy, so as I woman I would likely go Navy. The Marines are the greatest fighting force in the world, so it asks for the most out of their personnel (especially officers). Marines don't offer any bonuses either, it is a privilege to be a Marine officer.
