Do a lot of running, hiking with packs, and endurance workouts. Make sure you have a strong upper body, do pull ups, sit ups, push ups, and maybe lift weights. Cycling and swimming are good for endurance. Its better to go outside and run instead of doing an exercise bike. Get acclimated by being outside a lot.
Don't overwork yourselft, but start training now. |

run 3 miles a day... max out situps and pullups 3 times a day and you should be fine in about 3 weeks. |

have someone kick your a$$ daily for 6 months or so, you should try to resist and get away. If you finally outrun them or get the upper hand then you should be in good shape. Also try push ups, sit- ups, and a 3 to 5 km run daily. You can start of at a lower run rate, but try to build up to this, it will make your transistion phase easier. |
