Bipolar..and Drill Sgts/Regular NCOs?

I hear alotta Drill Sgts are Bi-polar..and same with regular NCOs in the Army. IF they are really bi-polar wouldn't that be unfair to a new soldier or just any soldier that has a lesser grade than that NCO?

I mean because some people with Bi-polar get UNREASONABLY upset or mad at someone else for a small flaw/fault.
They're are bi-polar people who just GO OFF because they extremely annoyed within their own mind about what.....?.....nothing really.

BTW...not everyone with Bi-polar acts the same...some get irritated then others.

They're not bi polar. They have to act in a certain manner to convey the fear and respect policy. There job is to push you to the breaking point, to see if you can endure and become a soldier. If you ever catch one in his or her off time they are just regular people who have a tough job to do. Don't get me wrong some love there job maybe a little more than they should but they're people and not some crazy military crackpot hired to make your life miserable.

A lot of NCOs are bipolar? Where'd you hear that? On some genius' MySpace page?

Bi-polar... not the same with PTSD.

Some, most of the Drill Sergeants have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), so, expect of them to go ballistic for anything. They go off because they are getting paid to do it, that's what they learned at DS School. If somebody can't handle the DS being so Highspeed or Ballistic or Grumpy, you won't be able to be at hostile environments like...Combat.

Anyone with an emotional disorder can not be a drill sergeant. They've had to throw several people out because they had anger issues and would take it out on the trainees/ recruits.

This is simply not true. The way they act is all part of the training. It is intended to stress you out, learn how to handle yourself, and maintain military bearing. Following graduation, the new troop usually holds very high respect for their DI. I do. It was strange for him to salute me at graduation.

i'm pretty sure that it's a job requirement. you have to be certified crazy before you can even apply.

My son graduated from Ft. Benning in March and had alot of respect for his drill sgts. One pinned his blue cord on him at graduation and his senior drill sgt. came to his Airborne graduation and pinned his wings on him last friday. I was there at both but he wanted his drill sgts to do the pinning because he has so much respect for them. His senior drill sgt that came to his Airborne graduation even stayed and talked to us for almost 2 hours after graduation giving him last minute advice and told my son that if he graduates from SF he will be there. I think that says alot about the great group of drill sgts that we have training our soldiers.
