The Brits are using their heads . We have no reason to expand this war . |

Why the hell is everone BUT us talking about how we are going to invade Iran? |

First off, it's the "UK". Northern Ireland is a nation, and not to be ignored.
Second off, I don't think America is seriously contemplating a war with Iran. It's all talk. A war there would be disastrous. |

Yes a vibrant democracy siding with a repressive theocracy. Good choice. |

We don't need Britain's help for this job. We can just use the items that give a big bang for the buck: nukes.
We have to do it now or in 20 years. The retailiation will be far lower now. Bring it on. |

Whats up with all these Brits hating America? We should just break our alliance with them if they are not capable of knowing what an alliance is. |

I am pretty sure that the U.S. will not be invading Iran anytime soon. The U.S. military is already overworked and overstretched.
Israel, is the country you should be concerned about. Iran has been threatening to "destroy" Israel, and Israel will not hesitate to strike back.
If that happens Iran doesn't stand a chance, because so many countries would back up Israel that the U.S. wouldn't have to get involved. |

Since when did a high ranking military officer take political decisions.
I can't find anything in the news regarding this, and to be honest it would be a disciplinary offence for a serving military officer to start commenting on such foreign policy issues.
However, it should be noted that Britain does not have to get involved in every American War. Indeed was America involved in Malaysia, Aden or the Falklands, no and if I remember rightly Britain sensible sat out Vietnam.
I don't recall any particularly good diplomatic relations between Iran and Britain, the Royal Navy still searches ships off the Iranian coast and there was a diplomatic crisis between the two countries only last year when Iran took a group of British sailors hostage.
The EU (of which Britain is a member) has pledged to apply further pressure on Iran in the shape of more sanctions only today.

I would hardly call applying extra sanctions on a country a sign of good diplomatic relations. |

Who said we were going to invade it? If anything, Iran will probably have an "accidental" nuclear explosion within it's own country. USA *hearts* Israel |

BIrds of a feather.....
your high ranking military officer is entitled to his own ridiculous opinion, but i doubt he's speaking for the government. |

so, if Israel gets to them first, we have no worries. and if we get to Iran before Israel does, all the better, we have are own war machine, we don't need the Brits. And if they do side with Iran we'll finish the job left undone in 1814. |

Why.? They are going to lose.
We have to best weapons, and the most army (except China) in the world.
Personaly, I belive we could take on most countries.
Not that it matters, Obama wouldn't go into another war. |

The U.S. military is so broke that an invasion of another country seems unlikely. I think it is possible that the world has followed the U.S. and been burnt by it. Even the weak-kneed and pansy-a ssed brits have finally learned what we all need to know. The States are the terrorists of the world and it is political suicide these days to let them tell us what to do. |

Britain should side with everything that is anti-war and the U.S.A happens to love war, violence and loves supporting people who are illegally occuppying other people's land. |
