@Nick, I am British myself, but I hold no grudges against the US. At the end of the day, the better man won so to speak. Wars are fought daily, it is the ability to learn from History and move on and settle our differences that make us a stronger species above anything else. So in that case, I wish you all a happy July 4th!

You need a full british citizenship , but commonwealth is excepted sometimes , you need to be free from disease and need to be able to pass a rigorous medical , your criminal backround can bar you from some jobs in the forces but you would have to ask a recruiter about that . You need to be within 16 to 32 to join although i believe with some branches if you have previous experience you can join at a maximum age of 36.And you need to be physically fit and robust. For Paras you have to go through infantry training first which consists of 26 weeks basic CIC training , and para training consists of an extra 28 weeks training and the a 5 week basic parachuting course run by the RAF. |

The only British servicemember I see in here fairly regularly is a RMC. I don't recall seeing any that have earned the red beret.
