To honestamerican above me....
Based on your argument about who should be paying for what...
The same argument can be said of California's highway system that the US government maintains, or California's state run universities that receive millions in federal funding, or any number of programs run by the State of California that receive federal funding.
What would happen if the federal government told California "well all those programs that we fund for you are your responsibility, so you pay for them."
Answer: Those programs would cease to exist.
The federal government already spends millions probly billions in the California educational system.
BTW, a state cannot refuse G.I. bill benefits. If this legislation on behalf of California is directed at that then look for it to be blocked. |

Well of course. They need that money to pay for all the Illegal immigrants they want to send to school. That way they can get those people the right to vote... See Military usually don't vote Dems.. Why would they want to help the Military?
F'n Dems anyway! |

As a Californian its a disgrace; but remember it gets far worse. You have San Francisco boycotting recruiting, not allowing the Golden Gate Bridge to be used in filming recruitment commercials, kicking recruiters out of publicly funded schools etc. It gets worse - I don't vote for these idiots but we're out voted.
Just remember not all Californian's are off the deep end. |

Sometimes I'm ashamed to be a Californian. :( The super-liberal mindset and the "blind eye" to use of funds has caused our otherwise wealthy state to suffer when it comes to funding. Unless you live in Oakland, CA and are poor.
Yes, unfortunately, poor people are sometimes entitled to more benefits than people who work for a living. |

CAUTION:Truth may hurt!
 |
The destruction of America will not be at the hands of Al-Qaida, Russia, China, or any other outside force. It will be at the hands of ignorant voters and corrupt politicians.
We'll see how much they change their tune as soon as recruiting comes to a stand still, and there's nobody there to catch the bullet when Al-Qaida is marching through the streets. |

Please provide a link so that we can actually read the position of the California democrats without your bla, bla, bla. |

I wonder when California is really going to fall off into the ocean? Or rather try to break away from the USA and be their own little country LOL! It wont ever happen. If anything Veterans deserve MORE money, MORE opportunities to go to school. As far as 10% of their lelgistation being Veterans... they aughta be ashamed of themselves! Probably just some trust fund babies who could afford to go to Harvard and Yale and still don't quite understand that most people dont have those opportunities. *sigh* |

At least they are consistent.
California is the only state that does not offer some form of tuition assistance to its National Guard members. |

Get this simple little fact straight. The state of California did not send troops to Iraq or Afganistan.....it was the federal government(Bush).........So they are the ones who owe it to the troops with educational benefits not the state.
Why aren't you screaming instead about how shabbily the wounded war vets are being screwed by the republican lead government? |

The Federal Government should be paying for it, and they should be raising taxes in order to pay for it.
You conservatives got us into a 'free' war, that's done nothing but increase the debt, increase the price of oil, and is now threatening the US dollar.
Not bad for sheer incompetence. |

Forget War Buy More

I spent 4 years serving my nation through public service (I am a returned Peace Corps volunteer). I've always wondering why we weren't eligible for similiar benefits. Service is service, heck I even got shot at in Peace Corps.
(Not an answer I know). |

Wrong.
Anti-troop does not equal wanting to end the war so that our soldiers can come home and STOP DYING.
The most anti-troop party in existence are the neocons. |
