Calls for a military response to N. Korea?

I am reading questions and responses on here about folks calling for a military response to the N. Korean rocket/missile launch. Why would we be so stupid to be lured by the North Koreans into a conflict that would provoke China and Russia, when the thing splashed down 1500 miles (approx) short of it's intended distance? It wasn't even aimed at us. Perhaps it was a scare tactic, but why would we be so stupid as to go into a 3rd war when they don't even have the remote capability of targeting us? Just wondering what the hub-bub is about...

Yarbsea, I understand and appreciate your point, so my follow up, is this.......what if that gun wasn't aimed at you, nor was it ever intended to be, but you killed the guy anyway. You would be a murderer. I have several guns, and I like to shoot, but just because my gun "can" shoot you, it doesn't mean I will. If I wanted to destroy you, I wouldn't shoot you anyway, knowing you'd retaliate... However, if I could provoke you into shooting at me first, then my friends would take care of you for me.

Who Wants to Know??

To attack North Korea would be foolish, America and its allies would never be able to crush the communist bloc in the region. China's involvement in the Korean showed us how committed the Reds are to keep their own turf.

Not only that, but we don't really have any reason to invade N. Korea. The United States, and its allies test missiles all the time, along with Iran and Russia. Their armies are poorly equipped and the military is old and degrading. If the United States thought N. Korea was a threat they would have shot down the missile, I mean honestly, what could they do? Its not like there's any more, and if there is, lets shoot down them when they launch until we bankrupt the country.

How about this for hub-bub.

What if you worst enemy in town setup a 30mm CANNON 100 feet from your front lawn.

Then he aimed it directly at your front door.

While you are leaving your house he fires it, but for some reason instead of hitting you smack in the face, it flies over the top of your house and lands in your back yard.

Now ask yourself your silly question again: What is the hub-bub about if it didn't even hit what it was aiming at?

In my unscientific opinion, most of the people calling for a military response are also using it as an excuse to bash the POTUS and accuse him of being weak. This makes me think they were not old enough to read over the last few years (or in some cases, even the last several days). NK needs something to bargain with. They can now possibly touch Alaska. They are far from being able to arm that rocket.

One Big Awfull Mistake America

What do you get when you have a country with nothing to lose and a newly acquired set of long range nuclear missiles?
A life threatening situation that could make 9-11 look like a small attack. I personally don't believe we should rush in gung ho but I do not think scolding them is working either.
