Ok, if I can get a detailed answer, thanks a bunch. I was wondering if I can order a desktop (gaming) computer to the Navy base (when I'm not on the ship on tour). Well, I understand that I can buy a laptop, but I am really curious if I can get a desktop computer. For example, when I get enough money after BMT, school, etc., would I be able to order a gaming computer to my dorm and be able to keep it there during the time I'm on the ship. Thanks for the help. :D

Desktop computers will be difficult and not necessarily an option depending on the command you are assigned to. If you are in barracks you possibly can. Barracks are usually only assigned to personnel on Shore duty or with a squadron. But if you are stationed on a ship then that is where you will sleep with up to 60 other people so you are limited on the space you have. So you will not have a barracks room to keep your things in. You can have a laptop that you can purchase from any computer store or the Base Exchange and take it with you. |

I assume you are a single sailor. You will have a barracks or dorm room, likely a single room, but possibly a double. You will be able to keep this room while you are afloat. You can keep anything (legal) you want in your room. |

i know you cant bring it on the ship or barix
i know you can live off base in you owen apartment (takes sum time to get the permission)
i play wow with Meany ppl that are in the service most use lap top or live off base
my under standing is that you ca hav any thing you want as long as it fits in your trunk ,Storage space (not shure the proper word) |
