Can I get out of the military before basic if I'm SMP?

I'm in an ROTC program at my my college and last November I enlisted in the National Guard as an SMP cadet. However, I'm not officially SMP yet because I haven't technically contracted yet. My Ship date is 4 May.
I'm having serious second thoughts about this and I joined due to pressure by my friends and the 20k signing bonus. Is there any way to opt out if I contact my recruiter and explain the situation?
Additional Details
Just to make sure things are clear, I swore in twice at MEPS, once with the Army and once with the Guard.
And I'm pretty sure I haven't actually contracted yet because it hasn't been formally recognized by my schools Army ROTC, and by that I mean I haven't received a contract pin yet.

The Guard and Reserve is different from active duty - if you swore in once you are in without shipping to basic.
EDIT: If you have been paid for attending frill you are in - that's the way it works with the Guard and Reserve, |

The Guard and reserve are different than active duty,
In as soon as you swear in the first time, you are in.
You can refuse to ship to basic training in the guard and reserves.
But unlike the active duty DEP, where you just get released from DEP.
Since you are officially in the Guard already, you will be discharged.
You will recieve a Entry Level Separation for "Performance and Conduct."
AR 135–178, chapter 14
Which will mean, you will be disenrolled from ROTC
And pretty much not allowed in any branch of the US military in the future. |

first and foremost you have already contracted. you just haven't smp contracted yet. you still hold a contract with the guard. and yes you can just refuse to leave, but you will be exempted from ever being in the military and if you have received any pay from attending your morning pt's with the rotc then they can get it all back from you. i can tell you from experience with the rotc that you have it the best that any one in the army will have it. you get any schools that you want, and you are "protected" for several years until you finish bolc. |
