Can I get some inspiration for joining the US Military?

I'm having a very hard time getting a GED... (I plan to get college credits under my belt, after I finally get my GED), I can't get a HS Diploma because of really bad family issues. I want to join the military more then anything & I just feel pissed off & I feel like I can't make it, but I refuse to give up. I WILL NOT give up. This is MY dream & I'm going after it.

Just looking for someone with some free time that can urge me on a bit. If there's anyone out there..

Please no rude responses I'm going through a rough time as it is...

(I wont state the branch I plan to join since some people on here debate over which branch is better & it really annoys me.)

Well like you, family problems forced me to focus less on high school and more on keeping my family a family. So I went out got my GED. I will tell you, the GED was the biggest mistake of my life, and I wish I would of graduated High School. Don't let this discourage, just because it hasn't worked out well for me doesn't mean you can't make it work for you. I am not in the military, but you gotta do what you want to do. I have lived myself so far, to what other people want me to do. It's a sh*t way to go about things. You need to make yourself what you want yourself to be.

If your getting your GED and thinking of joining the US Armed Forces , then your pretty inspired already. The question is, what do you want to do as an occupation in the military? Do you want to go out to seas? Be stationed over seas? Do you want to support State Guard or Reserve units? Each service offers many opportunities for you , you just need to figure out what suits you in the long run.

Miscellaneous

The military will help pay for you education through the ROTC program (ages 17-31) also, you can use your G.I bill. Just make sure you apply for it at the beginning b/c you can't change your mind about it. The AF has good tech careers.

It's available for public school students and enlisted military personal. If you are finishing your GED, you can apply for a ROTC commission where you can attend school, fully paid for by military, to earn an undergraduate degree and serve in the military for at least 4 years as an officer.

Kids out of high school can apply for it just like an enlisted. However, it's competitive. But this doesn't mean you can't get in. Just keep trying your best and you will succeed. Don't let these people put you down b/c every officer or even colonel has been where you are at now. Remember, every journey begins with just one step ;)

Your an idiot for wanting to join the armed forces anyway. You deserve a rude response for putting your live at risk, and for what? You will be nothing but a political puppet, doing their bidding, not the country. You will just come back (if you make it back alive) a massive drunk just like a bunch of people that i know. Why do you think most veterans commit suicide? Think about what your doing. Getting a GED is not that hard, and you already feel like you "can't make it". Get a GED and do something that doesn't involve getting shot at, at least go to war for something worth fighting for.
