Not in BCT. But you can during MOS training. |

You will get to use your phone at APS here at Jackson, Knox I'm not too sure about. OSUT is a different beast compared to basic training. They let you guys use your cell phones in Basic at jackson all the time. |

coming from the guys in my unit fresh out of boot they said it was allowed on Sundays mostly its based on the chain of command for that post and then the company policy's then finally ur drill Sargent to weather u can or not even if ur company says yes your drill Sargent can take privileges away for ne reason or say u must earn the privilege once out of basic almost all posts allow them while not in class. |

Cell phones at BCT is a NO-GO. Though essentially everything depends on the the person in charge. TRADOC usually sets the standards for whats allowed at Army training post, though its up to the commander of your company with the final say so. Rule of thumb you can add to a standard but you can't take away. |

No cell phones in BCT. Sorry. I'm not sure how often you'll be able to call home, but I know it's not alot.
I don't know about GED school. It's probably going to be a little more relaxed than Basic. |
